Dear Parishioners and Friends in Christ,
Praise be Our Lord Jesus Christ,
First of all, I want to thank you all for your prayers for my family and me while I was in Argentina, and for your prayers for my safe return to St. Charles. They indeed were heard by God who kept me safe beyond my travels and during the ordeal with the fire at our offices and rectory.
While the police continue their investigation into causes and responsibility, I want to update you in where we are so far regarding our reopening.
The fire completely destroyed the parish and school offices and heavily damaged the roof of most of the rectory. The smoke of the fire on the other hand, spread through most of our buildings including the Church. We are having professionals clean and test the air quality in the Church this week, which will give us a better timeframe for our return to our Church.
In the meanwhile, we are looking for options to be able to celebrate Holy Week as a community. More information will be forthcoming.
On the school side, we are looking into other buildings to finish this school year. We have been blessed to now have a growing school community and we intend to keep it growing by the grace of God.
Let us continue to pray for one another. Let us renew our faith and hope in Christ our Savior and Redeemer who will continue to bless us during and beyond our struggles and difficulties.
In Christ,
Fr. Soler
